Cenk's training diary and team update

We just had our second session on outrigging. We were lucky as in both occasions, the weather was great and we made the most of the training and the beautiful harbour.

These trainings are preparing us for the outrigging part of our race. Considering none of the team members have done outrigging before, we were fortunate to find training just before the race. We also discovered the trainings are good fun and a social event where you meet other ( more professional) outriggers and other Accor Teams.

The trainings are becoming more intense and we are starting to mix it up ( like running and swimming) to be ready for the gruelling conditions in Fiji.

My personal training is going well. The other day, I ran from work to home and it took me only 40 minutes (20 minutes faster than the public transport!) Cyling and running will be the ideal mode of transport for me in the next weeks with a swimming stop at a local pool on the way.

A big thank you to all who donated so far.

Help us reach our goal: $20 000, there is now only one month to the race and you can donate online just by clicking on the link on this page.

Cenk's training diary and team update

Our team is now starting to train on outrigging. We will have 3 sessions, starting this Saturday. We are told it will be a “wet experience” and some other Accor teams are joining us for this training as well.

On a personal level, my training is getting more intense as the race approaches. Finally back in the pool and I realised I missed it. I will be swimming twice a week starting next week.

I started my new job as well and tomorrow I am planning to run back home after work- that should be around 6k and much more fun than the public transport. As the weather is getting better, I will cycle or run around 3 times a week from work.

Recently I went to a bike ride with Michael Mangos, who is also taking part in the race. We went to Royal National Park and cycled around 20k. The scenery was serene and green and we made the most of it! Hoping to have a few more rides like that and that will wrap up the training preparation for Fiji.

The team is training hard, especially Trish is making significant progress- just look below for her regular updates.

A big thank you to all who donated so far.

If you are thinking of donating, this is the best time and we have to let you know that seeing our supporters donating gives us an extra level of motivation to train even harder for this great charity race.
